Leviticus is one of those books where I think the average Bible reader with his uncritically held assumption that everything the Bible says is equally true and authoritative will make some mistakes that can have a negative impact on healthy faith formation.

While reading in the book of Exodus the other day I was struck by this particular law:
10 “If a man who has married a slave wife takes another wife for himself, he must not

Sunday I preached a sermon on the dangers of productivity while also rolling out a new church management platform that will likely make us more…productive.
And while increased productivity was not the purpose for the new platform, the irony was not lost on me.
Nor was the fact that this was Labor Day weekend, a holiday typically devoted to resting from labor and productivity....
